I thought this chapter was helpful for explaining various ways to cite your sources. For example, the chapter explained paraphrasing versus directly quoting an author. I also liked how the Bedford Book of Genres explained how to properly paraphrase another writer's work. When I am writing a paper, I avoid paraphrasing because I am afraid that I will screw up and accidentally plagiarize someone's work. Now that I have a guide to paraphrasing, I can improve my future compositions. The section on examples of MLA and APA will greatly assist me in my compositions, especially when it comes to making parenthetical citations.
