Where do you feel like you are most heard?
I feel like I am understood well by my members in Women in Math, Science, and Engineering. This group is a living learning community for freshman students that chose majors in STEM fields. Many of the women in this group understand the hardships of doing classes for these majors, so it is easy to talk to them and laugh about our misery in our math classes. Many times I have thought about quitting my major because I stressed about my grades. My close friends in WIMSE kept me from giving up and reminded me that my major is supposed to kick my ass, and that it will be worth it once I graduate with a degree in a subject that I am passionate about. I can see myself still keeping in touch with them once I graduate, and I would have a had a rough first semester without their support.
