Writing is a way to communicate information and ideas. Usually people decide to write in order to inform, persuade a reader to agree with their opinion, or give a story on their experiences. Before writing, it is wise to think about why you are writing and how to communicate your ideas most effectively to the reader. Writers should determine their purpose for writing, tailor their work so it fits for a certain audience, choose a specific mode, and decide which genres they want to employ in their writing. The purpose of ENC2135 is to allow us to practice this way of thinking about our writing and improve our overall communication.
